IP Specialist – fixed term contract


The Patent Specialist as a key member of the team will coordinate the different activities related to IP: Search, Protect, Exploit, Control and Defense.

This position requires close interaction with internal and external stakeholders – other company functions, especially innovation, technical and legal teams, but also, customers' technical, IP consultants and patent attorneys.

The successful candidate is a team player with business-oriented mindset, strong communication skills and a solid technical background.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor IP activities on D&I, R&I and Home Cleaning Projects, identify needed actions and document them.
  • Carry out technological watch (on fields of interest) and economical watch (on customers and competitors).
  • Coordinate drafting and filing of new IP assets. And control maintenance of the assets.
  • Evaluate new technologies (FTO, existing alternative solutions, ...).
  • Coordinate actions against infringements and oppositions against other parties' patents.

Requirements

  • Excellent command of the English language is essential
  • Engineering degree, preferably in electromechanical or materials fields.
  • Preferably with some education about Industrial Property
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar position
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Capacity to work in autonomy
  • IP basic knowledge
  • Good organizational and computer skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments
  • Self-motivated: pursues knowledge acquisition and skill enhancement opportunities.
  • Strong hands-on approach
  • Team player
  • Available for a fixed term contract
