Our site in Hermosillo, Sonora (Mexico) is currently looking for a

MATERIAL PLANNING SPECIALIST


Ensure the supply of raw materials for production plans while maintaining appropriate inventory levels, supporting the achievement of departmental goals and the plant's objectives.


Responsibilities:

  • Comply with and follow up on established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support the production plan.

  • Minimize the number of system exception messages.
  • Review and manage shortage reports and Material Risk reports.
  • Generate purchase orders for raw materials.
  • Confirm material delivery schedules.
  • Respond to supplier communications and inquiries.
  • Analyze demand changes and their impact on material requirements.
  • Manage imports, shipment logistics, and domestic and international transportation activities.
  • Confirm scheduled material pickups.
  • Attend CFT (Cross-Functional Team) meetings.
  • Update purchase orders based on supplier invoices received.
  • Analyze materials with special situations, including purchases below or above agreed Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ).
  • Confirm production requirements and update weekly demand loading schedules.
  • Propose and implement improvements to work processes, including:
  • Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ)
  • Warehousing and storage
  • Transportation
  • Material handling
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the 5S culture.
  • Participate in Kaizen initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Follow up on supplier payments and payment scheduling in coordination with the Finance team.
  • Track material changes related to new projects or business initiatives.
  • Analyze customer Safety Stock, DFC, and Safety Time parameters as applicable.
  • Review and analyze obsolete and expired material reports.
  • Maintain material master data in SAP.

Compétences requises

Requirements:

  • Advanced English proficiency (90% or higher).

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

  • 3+  years of experience in a similar role, focusing on Production, Materials Planning and Logistics

  • Experience with SAP (MRP) systems.

  • Knowledge of transportation and logistics processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Inventory management experience, including Kanban and FIFO methodologies.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
